The savings
Pre-tax dollars go further
HSA and FSA funds are spent before taxes are applied. For most buyers that means saving 22 to 37 percent on a clinically matched sleep system.
On a $1,500–$3,000 mattress, pre-tax savings typically equal $330 to over $1,100 depending on your bracket. Not a coupon. Not a sale. Just spending money you have already set aside before taxes.
How it works

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?
A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is a document from a licensed healthcare provider stating that a product is medically required to treat or manage a specific condition. The IRS requires this documentation for dual-use items like mattresses to qualify as eligible HSA or FSA expenses.
Flex facilitates this through a telehealth consultation at checkout. You do not need a separate doctor appointment or a note from your chiropractor in advance. The process completes entirely during checkout and typically takes about 2 minutes. Your LMN is accessible at any time at withflex.com/portal.
Keep your LMN and your Spinal Rest receipt together for at least 3 years. Your FSA administrator may request the LMN to confirm eligibility.

Eligible products
What qualifies at Spinal Rest
All Spinal Rest sleep systems are eligible for HSA and FSA purchase through the Flex LMN pathway when you have a qualifying medical condition.
Mattresses
All Spinal Rest mattresses—including the Rejuvenate, Midnight, Twilight, Aurora, and Legacy collections—qualify when purchased to address a documented spinal or sleep condition. Chronic back pain, disc conditions, sciatica, and fibromyalgia are the most common qualifying conditions.
Adjustable Bases
All adjustable base models qualify when used to manage acid reflux, sleep apnea, snoring, disc conditions, post-surgical recovery, or other conditions where positional elevation is clinically indicated. Zero-gravity positioning for spinal decompression is a well-documented qualifying rationale.
Pillows
Spinal Rest pillows qualify when purchased to address a documented cervical or neck condition. If your chiropractor has recommended changes to your sleep surface as part of managing cervical disc conditions or neck pain, a supporting LMN is available through Flex at checkout.
Referred by your chiropractor?
Patients arriving through a chiropractic referral are typically already managing a condition that supports LMN eligibility. The condition your chiropractor is treating you for is almost certainly the qualifying condition you will reference in the Flex health consultation at checkout. Take our free quiz first to get a matched recommendation, then use your pre-tax dollars.
